ABOUT NICOLE
Nicole Robertson (née Cardi) is a repeat founder, operator, and strategist with more than two decades of experience building brands, platforms, and communities at the intersection of commerce and conscience.
Her early career spanned beauty retail, ecommerce, and brand development, including Director of Retail and Operations at Fred Segal Beauty, one of Los Angeles’s most iconic luxury destinations, and Reflect.com, Procter & Gamble’s pioneering beauty platform combining direct-to-consumer ecommerce with brick and mortar retail. She went on to launch Beautyfix by Dermstore as Brand Director, conceiving the expert advisory panel model that set the program apart and building it into one of the first curated beauty subscription programs in the industry.
A lifelong environmentalist, Nicole found the place where her values and her work finally aligned at Cereplast, the NASDAQ-listed bioplastics pioneer where she served as VP of Marketing and Communications. After Cereplast, she consulted for mission-driven organizations and emerging brands, with notable clients including Beauty Changes Lives, a nonprofit dedicated to transforming lives through the power of beauty education.
In 2017 she founded Swap Society, building it into one of the most recognized names in circular fashion over eight years. Today she serves as Co-Founder and CEO of Rootiful, building a private community and marketplace for conscious living from the ground up.
Nicole is a multilingual vocalist with a passion for Bossa Nova, a retired professional dancer, and a devoted advocate for animal rescue. She lives in the greater Palm Springs area with her husband, two sons, and three rescue pets.
