ABOUT NICOLE
I care deeply about building a better world, and I believe real change comes from better systems. My work focuses on sustainability, the circular economy, and conscious living—designing platforms, communities, and marketplaces that help people turn values into everyday action.
I am a repeat founder and operator with more than two decades of experience building consumer platforms at the intersection of commerce, community, and sustainability. My career spans early direct-to-consumer innovation, subscription commerce, retail, sustainable materials, and circular economy businesses, giving me a systems-level perspective on how products, culture, and markets evolve together.
I currently serve as Co-Founder & CEO of Rootiful, a community and marketplace for conscious living. Previously, I founded Swap Society, a national circular fashion platform that helped advance resale and reuse in apparel and became a recognized voice in circular economy innovation.
Earlier, I held leadership roles at Cereplast (NASDAQ: CERP); BeautyFix by Dermstore (later acquired by Target); and Fred Segal Beauty, with earlier experience at Reflect, Procter & Gamble’s early direct-to-consumer beauty platform. These roles shaped my foundation in ecommerce, subscription commerce, retail operations, and consumer brand growth.
My work has been featured by CNN, Good Morning America, Bloomberg, NBC, Fortune, and WWD. I also hosted The Swap Society Podcast, featuring conversations with grassroots organizers and industry leaders on sustainable fashion, climate action, fair trade, workers’ rights, and cultural change.
